Gracing your fireplace surround with a Georgian Hob Grate

Our Reproduction Georgian Hob Grates are made in cast iron and steel and are based on the best traditional designs. Clicking on a hob grate image will show our standard size for each model but we can also produce these hob grates in bespoke sizes to suit your particular room.

Each Hob Grate can be used for either traditional solid fuel or can be fitted with a modern, maintenance free gas fire supplied by Emsworth Fireplaces to match the grate. Where a gasfire is fitted, we can supply either traditional effect coals or ceramic coals for a slightly more contemporary feel.

Fitting the hob grate into the fireplace

Replacing an old or broken fireback with a new hob grate can give new life to a fireplace. Quite often, the existing fire surround / mantel will be brought back to life by fitting a hob grate of sympathetic design.
