Gracing your fireplace surround with a Georgian Hob Grate

Our Georgian style Hob Grates are manufactured from mild steel and are based on traditional designs. Clicking on a hob grate image will show our standard size for each model but we can also produce these hob grates in bespoke sizes to suit your particular room.

Each Hob Grate can be fitted with a modern gas fire supplied by Emsworth Fireplaces to match the grate. Where a gas fire is fitted, we can supply either traditional coals or log effect, or for a slightly more contemporary feel, ceramic pebbles. Alternatively they can be manufactured for use as a traditional solid fuel fire.

Fitting the hob grate into the fireplace

Replacing an old or broken fireback with a new hob grate can give new life to a fireplace. Quite often, the existing fire surround / mantel will be brought back to life by fitting a hob grate of sympathetic design.
